Proposed Freedom Convoy investigation by committee to specifically exclude Freedom Convoy members

Canada’s Liberal government hopes to hold an urgent study of the Freedom Convey which apparently would specifically exclude members of the Freedom Convoy.

Blacklock’s Reporter writes that Liberal MP Rechie Valdez (Mississauga-Streetsville, Ont.) filed a notice of motion with the Commons Veterans Affairs Committee on February 1^st.

Freedom Convoy protesters would not be invited to hearings, Blacklock’s indicated based on remarks made to media by Transport Minister Omar Alghabra.  No date for a vote was immediately scheduled.

As reported by Blacklock’s:

The blockade covering ten square blocks of downtown Ottawa is entering its second week. Cabinet members yesterday appealed to truckers to leave the city.

“They made their point,” Alghabra told a reporter. “I think it is time to go home peacefully.”

“Should the Ottawa police step in?” asked a reporter. “I have full confidence in our law enforcement agencies, that they will do their job,” replied Alghabra.

“I mean, they made their point,” said Alghabra. “The entire country heard their point of view. I think they should go home.”

The Ottawa Police Service said it had charged three protesters, two from Ottawa and a Quebec City man. None were truck drivers. The trio were charged with mischief, uttering thrreats and ‘carrying a weapon to a public meeting.’”
