Politicians are standing in the way of affordable energy

But we also have any number of other policies and legislation implemented and supported by the federal government to discourage or prevent exploration and development of Canada’s abundant oil and gas resources. These are resources that, if exploited properly, would make energy in Canada more affordable for all. The Trudeau/Singh cabal don’t want them exploited though. They want them locked in the ground. 

The surest way for them to do that is to make it nearly impossible to build pipelines: the lack of new pipeline infrastructure in Canada means we can’t move more oil and gas – either within Canada, to the US, or to our coasts to go abroad.  Existing pipes are full, so producers can’t produce more to put in them. But the market wants more product.

Industry, media slam “online only” training for Vehicle for Hire drivers

Online-only training for Vehicle for Hire drivers in Toronto continues to get slammed by Taxi industry members, as well as mainstream media outlets including the Toronto Star.

Beck Taxi Operations Manager Kristine Hubbard spoke with 640 News’ Kelly Cutrara on June 28th and disputed all suggested that an online program with focused on customer service is training enough for professional drivers, Taxi or rideshare.

Mulroney returns as Ontario’s Transportation Minister, Bethlenfalvy returns to Finance

The Honourable Caroline Mulroney has been returned to her position as Minister of Transportation and Minister of Francophone Affairs.

On June 24th, Ontario Premier Doug Ford unveiled his new cabinet with the team tasked with deliver government’s ambitious agenda to build the infrastructure including highways, transit and the road to the Ring of Fire.

With the Honourable Peter Bethlenfalvy returning as Finance Minister, this means that transportation industry members hoping for government to adopt new policies around highway safety and vehicle insurance will continue working the same ministers as before the June 2nd election.

Vehicle for Hire fully online training: the short answers (and the long ones, too)

Concerns were raised by Taxi News and industry members on just how easy it will be for people in a rush to certify drivers to circumvent even the most minimal requirements of an online program with no identification requirement. We sent four questions to Toronto’s Media Office staff, who obtained answers from Licensing and Standards.
