100% of the science is behind the Truckers, say Doctors

In an unusual move at the press conference held by Freedom Convoy 2022 organizers following Ottawa’s declaration of a “State of Emergency,” the first speakers at the event were two medical doctors.

Dr. Paul Alexander and Dr. Roger Hodgkinson opened the press conference with remarks supporting the Truckers’ call for complete removal of COVID mandates.

“It is time that we stop, and that we declare this pandemic emergency over,” Dr. Paul Alexander, researcher in evidence-based medicine and research methodology at McMaster University told the room.

Toronto convoy largely peaceful and respectful

The Freedom Convoy to Toronto was been carefully been deemed a qualified success by media and politicians in that city.

“After a full day demonstrating, the trucks and protesters who had blocked Avenue and Bloor have been safely moved out. We appreciated the cooperation as we opened, and returned the intersection for safe use by residents and businesses. Officers will remain in the area over the weekend,” said Toronto Police Chief James Ramer on the evening of February 5th.

Downtown Ottawa resident goes out to meet Truckers, is surprised at the patriotism he finds

At night I see small groups huddled in quiet conversations in their new found companionship. There is no honking at night. What I haven’t noticed, not even once, are reporters from any of Canada’s news agencies walking among the trucks to find out who these people are. 2. The tactical situation for Ottawa is grim. Having lost control, it can’t get it back without a confrontation, and it isn’t confident it would win that confrontation. I think Sloly knows this. I think he’s trying to convince his bosses.

3. Ottawa is going to need to be “rescued” by outside help. Again, Sloly knows this. That’s why he’s already talking about the military. I’d think a police effort with massive reinforcements is more likely than a military response, but I’m not too confident in that prediction.

4. In the main, though, while this isn’t Jan. 6, per se, Canada doesn’t have effective control over its capital. It can get it back. It will. But for now, it’s lost it. Our government doesn’t have control of the capital city. Super.

Ottawa street crime has actually dropped since Truckers Convoy arrived: police data

Preliminary data show police-reported street crime actually fell since the blockade began, Blacklock’s Reporter writes today.

“The district saw 31 police calls for robbery, assault, drug trafficking, public drunkenness, stolen vehicles, store break-ins and other crimes in the week prior to the protest. There were three reports of street crime since the protest began for mischief, robbery and auto theft. Police yesterday said data were incomplete,” Blacklock’s reports.
