Read MoreThe deadline for individuals to file their tax returns with Revenue Canada is Monday, May 1st, because since April 30 is a Sunday. A tax return is considered on time if the CRA receives it, or if it is postmarked, on or before the next business day after April 30 which in 2023 is May 1st.
The current labour action by Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) does not change the deadline for filing tax returns. All paper returns and mail sent to the CRA will be stockpiled for future processing.

Last month, I told you about a Saskatoon couple I called Ted and Sally. He’s been a trucker for 40 years, and she’s been a trucker’s wife for nearly as long. They joined the Freedom Convoy in late January 2022 and, from day one, she streamed Facebook Live videos from the cab of their truck.
These videos allowed friends and family to ride along, to witness in real time the incredible enthusiasm with which ordinary Canadians responded to the Convoy. Today, they are an important, permanent record of what took place.

On April 21st, 2023, the announcement that Volkswagen will build its first Canadian plant in St. Thomas was made official.
Premier Doug Ford and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau were joined by Vic Fedeli, Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, and the federal Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, François-Philippe Champagne, to announce the deal for St. Thomas, Ontario, and Canada’s entire electric vehicle supply chain.

Saskatoon – The National Citizens Inquiry continues in Saskatoon on Friday, April 21, the second of three days of hearings. This is the fourth stop after Truro, Toronto and Winnipeg where Canadians such as doctors, morticians, lawyers, journalists and other individuals have been testifying about the negative effects of the government measures in response to COVID-19.

“Our research tells us that 85 per cent of Ontarians are concerned about the state of our roads,” says Teresa Di Felice, assistant vice president of government and community relations, CAA SCO. “Due to inflation, consumers are being more mindful of their purchases, and people are opting to hold on to their cars for longer instead of buying a new one. Funding for roadway improvements and proper infrastructure needs to be consistent to ensure that quality and safety are maintained.”
