W5 does in-depth story on Humbolt tragedy, shortfalls in truck training

On September 29th, CTV aired an exclusive interview and in-depth investigative piece on the Humbolt tragedy and shortfalls in the truck driver training industry.

“Perhaps the greatest crack in the system is that while the Ministry of Transport is setting the standards, in Ontario it is the Ministry of Colleges and Universities tasked with enforcing them. W5 learned there are just eight staff who are tasked with inspecting over 850 private career colleges in everything from cooking to trucking. They simply can’t keep up,” writes Shelley Ayres, W5 producer.
