Update on “Gordie Howe Bridge” at May 4th Hamilton event

The Hamilton Transportation Club (HTC) is pleased to announce that its Spring Address is scheduled on May 4, 2023, with a special update on the status of the new “Gordie Howe International Bridge by guest speaker Heather Grondin, vice president of the Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority.

Heather Grondin, Vice President of the Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority, will speak to the Hamilton Transportation Club on May 4th.

The Spring Address will be held at the Waterfront Banquet Centre at 555 Bay Street North in Hamilton and will feature two speakers. Tickets are $100 for the event, beginning with cocktails and networking at 5pm, followed by speakers, dinner and door prizes; registration information is available at this link.

Heather Grondin will speak about the pending opening of the Gordie Howe International Bridge for commercial traffic. She will cover the implications and benefits to goods movement north and south across Canada’s border with the United States.

Also scheduled to present is Norm Schleehahn, Director of Economic Development for the City of Hamilton. Schleehahn will touch upon the new facets of trade and commerce the City has embraced, and how Hamilton will play a leading role in warehousing, distributing and transporting new elements of goods unique to the City.

 “We are excited for the future of the Hamilton Transportation Club as we move toward our 100th Anniversary,” says Gene Emslie, President of the HTC.   “This is one of the oldest continuous transportation clubs in the country, and is just two years away from its centennial. We are thrilled to be back, bringing people from diverse backgrounds and industries together and contributing to charity.”
