Group planning to rally at Trudeau’s Hamilton retreat January 23rd

At least one group is planning to send busloads of demonstrators to the Justin Trudeau’s Cabinet retreat at the Hamilton Convention Centre on January 23rd.

“This week is crucial. Prime Minister Trudeau and all federal Ministers are meeting in Hamilton from January 23rd to 25th to plan out their priorities for the year. If you act now, we can win historic immigration changes. If all the Ministers at the meeting support regularization, then Cabinet can create an uncapped program through which all undocumented people and their families can apply for permanent residence as early as February,” reads the website page migrantrights.ca.

Trudeau appears “a little panicked” when asked about Freedom Convoy Anniversary

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau appeared flustered when asked a question about the upcoming anniversary of the Truckers’ Convoy, several social media outlets report. A reporter pointed out that there was a “heightened police presence and protestors outside” and asked Trudeau if he had reflected on the meaning of the Convoy in the past 12 months.

“I don’t know….I think that’s a question you would be better to ask Pierre Poilievre, he seems a lot closer to the Convoy,” Trudeau snapped.

The current political climate has led to a stampede of companies, including a large number of Franchises, promoting that “going green” pedigree. As scientists and politicians debate the impact or existence of global warming, green industry practices enjoy favourable public sentiment, largely dependent on supportive government policies, leading to ever-increasing profitability. 

As with any pioneering activity, it is not surprising that there is no widely accepted definition as to what constitutes “going green”. Accordingly, many commercial practices have been criticized of being nothing more than “greenwashing.” This article will analyze what exactly greenwashing is, how Canadian regulatory bodies are attempting to combat it, and provide commentary on how greenwashing/ the regulations surrounding it may impact franchisors and franchisees.

The Ottawa Taxi court proceedings resume again today for the third week. Metro Taxi’s Marc Andre Way is testifying again; to date, he is the only person who has been questioned on the stand. Representatives of the City of Ottawa, against whom the suit has been filed, has not been questioned to date.

The focus of today’s questioning at the outset has been Accessible services, which are not a revenue stream but operate on a cost-recovery basis.
