Toronto approves the first training provider for vehicle-for-hire drivers

The City of Toronto announced today that it has approved AMB Driving School as the first accredited driver training provider, as part of its mandatory driving training program for vehicle-for-hire drivers.

According the the press release posted April 27, drivers for vehicles-for-hire and private transportation companies (PTC), such as Facedrive, Lyft and Uber, need to contact AMB Driving School directly for more information and to register for the training program. The program offered by AMB Driving School includes in-class, virtual class and in-car components and will begin in May, 2022. Information is available at AMB’s website, here.

Ottawa Police send warning to Rolling Thunder bikers: no vehicles on Parliament Hill

The Ottawa Police service apparently learned a lot from the Trucker’s Freedom Convoy in January, as it has already released a statement on the “Rolling Thunder” bikers’ rally expected to arrive in the capital on April 30.

“The Ottawa Police Service has developed an enhanced operational approach to manage the Rolling Thunder event scheduled for April 30th along with any impacts from the arrival of participants on April 29th,” reads the statement posted to the Ottawa Police Service website on April 25th.

Truck World eliminates vaccine, mask mandates

Truck World, running April 21-23rd at the International Centre in Mississauga, does not require attendees provide proof of vaccination. Masks, although recommended, are not required.
