The Toronto Police Service is alerting the public to a sexual assault investigation and seeking the public’s assistance identifying a man who may, or may not, be driving a vehicle for hire.

The media release issued by TPS on November 1st, 2021, identifies a “driver” but does not indicate what kind of driver he is. Taxi News sought clarification on whether police are looking for a non-professional driver or a professional driver; and, if professional, whether the man was driving a Taxi, a limo, or a ride hail vehicle. (However, it appears Taxi could be eliminated as licensed Taxis in Toronto are marked with branded paint jobs, roof lights, and license numbers and would have been obvious).

Constable Lombardo of the Central Investigative Bureau told Taxi News that the requested information may be available later today.

According to the release, the incident occurred on Monday, February, 15, 2021, in the Williams Parkway and James Potter Road area in Brampton.

It has been reported that:

– a man sent an unknown vehicle/driver to pick up an 18-year-old woman from her residence

– she was picked up and sent to an undisclosed location

– the woman was sexually assaulted by a man

– the man told the woman he sexually desires 13-year-old girls

The man is described as in his thirties, 5’6″, short black hair, brown eyes, and had a accent.

Police are concerned there may be more victims.
