City of Toronto response to Behrouz Khamseh’s statement

“Statements attributed to City Manager Paul Johnson in this context are not true”

In response to statements made by Taxi operator Behrouz Khamseh in Taxi News’ March 20 article, “Was the VFH review an intentional waste of time?”, the City of Toronto has provided the following response:

“While the City Manager enjoys interacting with stakeholders and members of the public, the City of Toronto confirms that the statements attributed to City Manager Paul Johnson in this context are not true.

The Report (2024.EX19.4) was initiated by Council Direction and has been referred for further review.

City staff are dedicated to producing thorough and accurate reports including the December 10, 2024, report prepared by Municipal Licensing and Standards with Transportation Services.

The City continues to prioritize reviewing the Vehicle-for-Hire Bylaw to meet the needs of consumers and industry stakeholders while considering customer service, consumer protection, accessibility, equity, congestion and climate change.”
