Purolator firing workers over outdated COVID policies

“The only thing the Purolator’s COVID policy existed to do was to stop the spread of COVID-19,” says Vincent Favreau. “Purolator now knows the shot did not, and does not stop transmission of the virus. While other employers are bringing employees back and in some cases providing back-pay, Purolator is firing people,” says Favreau, who was sent home without pay on January 10, 2022. He received a letter severing his employment on November 26th.

Confusion reigns as Purolator letter demands staff “attest” to COVID shot status by November 16

Purolator employees who have declined to reveal their medical status to the corporation are now confused as to what they are actually being asked to do in a recent letter.

The November 7th letter signed by Darrell Hayashi opens by noting that employees must attest to being “vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment.”

Group urges Purolator employees to join lawsuit over privacy, COVID issues

Purolator violated the privacy rights of its employees when it demanded access to their personal medical information, a group of them is alleging.

The group of employees served Purolator with a cease-and-desist letter on April 25th, and is preparing to file a lawsuit later this month. There are both unionized and non-unionized members in the group, which currently numbers in the hundreds and which organizers hope will become thousands in the days ahead.

“Snake in a Cab” as Emotional Support Python accidentally left in Beck Taxi

A Beck Taxi driver picked up an unexpected and unwanted passenger on December 28th: a baby yellow python.

The python was travelling in the purse of its owner and evidently slithered out somewhere along the route. When the young woman arrived home and realized her pet was missing, she called Beck in a panic and asked if the driver could check his vehicle to see if the python was there.
