“Uber is laughing at us” taking $2 trips, Novikov says

Transcript of Yevhenii Novikov’s remarks:

“Yes, I would like to, would like to thank you the commission for the chance to speak here.

So first of all, I want to talk about the discrimination I think I have faced recently while I work in the Uber, I mean, as a introduction of the artificial intelligence upfront fee.

I noticed that the price for the same trip is different for different drivers. Many times I and other drivers received the same trip at the same location, but the payment for the trip was not the same. The same thing happens in food delivery, I keep getting orders that pay two, $3 just imagine two, $3 for trip, for about five kilometers.

Or, for example, a driver recently sent me a screenshot. Or today it’s $6 for 42 kilometers that’s just one way.

Yes, this feel this feels like exploitation. Why does Uber offer these orders? To make fun of us, really, this price does not match the contract we signed with Uber.

So, it’s, it’s look like Uber’s lying. When I take these orders, I lose money. When I take these orders, I lose money, and I can’t cancel them, because my rating will drop.

Another important observation, sometimes I and other drivers near a large group, a large group of people waiting for Uber. For example, after a big concern, some people wait 5,10, minutes, and finally an Uber driver arrives and pick up them, but I, along with other drivers, am already at the same location close to this customers, and still I get orders for trips that start five kilometers away.

Imagine this happening to you. Let’s say you’re in a hurry and call in Uber. You’re told the nearest driver is 10 minutes away, but in reality, another drivers is right, right next to you this way, Uber is misleading customers as well.”
