Why The Trucker is Smarter

Science may be called upon to serve common sense – but can never overrule it.
Since common sense has the truth immeasurably more on its side than any purely academic endeavour, it follows that all the very “clever” people who have gone through our universities must bring to common sense the same regard and reverence that they are supposed to (but don’t) bring to truth.
Truckers (and plumbers and electricians, motor mechanics and farmers and other blue collar workers) most certainly have much more common sense than the intellectual. Otherwise, the world as we know it would collapse under the weight of the foolish extrapolations and inventions of those in academia, that fly in the face of reality.
Truckers know for example, that the climate is changing but that people would starve and become naked and homeless if they should stop driving in solidarity with academics who have never driven a truck and who have been blogging about impending climate doom for decades.
All the research and pronouncements of all the white collar academics and bureaucrats, cannot change the reality of “climate change” being completely irrelevant to the Trucker delivering a load of vital food, shelter or clothing across the miles and across often dangerous driving conditions.
The Trucker also knows that the people who cry the loudest about climate change are the wealthiest, the ones most likely to take holidays in the sun when the Northern hemisphere becomes cold – and the flaky intellectuals who cannot do without air-conditioning, heated homes and a new wardrobe every few months. In the face of this flagrant hypocrisy, the Trucker believes he is doing a vital, practical task in the service of humanity. This also is common sense to the Trucker.
The Trucker is much smarter about environmental stewardship too. Most of the Truckers I know believe deeply in common sense measures to leave our planet a better place for future generations. But they believe in doing this by tangible tasks – such as picking up the garbage (including the blue peril of face masks everywhere) and keeping our air and water clean. Such esoteric terms as “carbon capture” and “carbon tax” mean nothing to the Trucker, since his smart sense tells him (correctly) that these are instruments of wealth transfer from the poor and middle class to the already very rich.
When the Trucker reads or hears from the academy and from bureaucrats that he and his family must feel guilty and are “privileged” because of a lack of pigmentation in his skin – he doesn’t know what the hell they are talking about and does not care. He does not need to care, because he is smarter. He knows that the lack of skin pigmentation is not an external mark of internal bigotry, since the real bigots are those in the academy and government who actually believe in ridiculous differences and prejudices based on the lack or abundance of skin pigment!
From the bunkers of our universities and huge, wasteful (of space and energy) government offices, our professionals, academics and bureaucrats have been sending out messages about how we should live our lives, what we should think and believe, what injections we ought to take and how the omnipresent State should become even more intrusive in our lives.
The Trucker does not take all this lying down, because he is smarter. The mystique and verbosity of the academy mean nothing to him, since he is in touch with reality, rather than with the computer screen.
Truckers realized quickly that the covid pandemic projection models were spectacularly wrong and affected so many lives adversely. But the Trucker also knew that this is only part of a pattern of academic arrogance and incompetence – and that every other academic model that seeks to take away our rights, including the climate change models are susceptible to fraud, hubris and greed. The trucks must keep moving, no matter what the modelling says!
Truckers are smarter than Trudeau and the tyranny of the nonsensical covid vaccine mandates – and the billions of dollars that big pharma was spending to force citizens to take an unnecessary and unsafe injection. Even before the academy had to reluctantly admit that the vaccine does not stop infection or transmission, the Trucker knew that it did neither. He looked around, he saw, he observed, he knew!
Truckers knew that civil disobedience to be successful, must be peaceful, persistent and embarrassing to the authorities. And so the trucks rolled – not for one day or a weekend, but starting in January 2022, for several weeks. And the Truckers convoy was so peaceful that the overall crime rate in Ottawa was sharply down during the Truckers’ protest!
When physicians and intellectuals began timidly questioning the official covid narratives but were almost to a man or woman afraid to speak truth to power, the Trucker decided that it was time to not only speak out but time too, for the trucks to roll. And like a mighty ocean did they roll and the roar of their truck engines was heard around the world!
The leaders of the Truckers’ convoy have very smartly demonstrated another necessary condition for a successful civil disobedience movement – a Gandhian willingness to suffer in the cause of truth and freedom. This terrifies and unsettles the tyranny, since suffering in the cause of truth and freedom is redemptive and exposes the darkness, moral bankruptcy and despair of the tyrant.
The highly vaccinated mouse Trudeau went scurrying around, looking for a place to hide from the Truckers. The mouse even supposedly contracted covid – but was still quivering with fright when it invoked the “Emergency” and made itself the laughing stock of the world. The mouse is still squeaking and scurrying, since it knows its time is almost up.
In my speech to the recently concluded and quite wonderful, “Free Speech in Medicine” conference, I spoke about the take over of our Universities and academies by the postmodernists – and about how the physicians, scientists, intellectuals and school teachers we deal with as a society, are all products of the postmodern academy, with its own constantly shifting, pliable and locally manufactured versions of “truth.”
The Trucker has remained splendidly isolated from the postmodern academy – and the cartoonish display of incompetence that proceeds from it. This may in part explain why he or she is smarter than the physician, the scientist, the politician and the philosopher.
It could also be that the super specialized education and sub-division of the population that has afflicted our societies since the Enlightenment has passed the Trucker by. He is utterly unaffected by the pigeon-holing of life into different areas of “expertise.” During the course of a single day on the road, he needs to be a competent exponent and manager of logistics, computer skills, mechanics, motor skills and physical skills and coordination – or else lose his livelihood or his life.
The luxury of useless and expensive (to the tax-payer) contemplation is not available to the Trucker – and nor should it be available to our intellectuals and bureaucrats.
Orwell is supposed to have said that “some ideas are so foolish only an intellectual could believe them, for no ordinary man could be so foolish.”
We can all be that “ordinary man” and join the Trucker (and plumber and electrician and mechanic and farmer and other blue collar workers) in their undeclared revolt against political correctness, fake science, fake news and the wokology of the academy.
