Waymos stop dead in power outage
“They’re cooked – they can’t go anywhere”
YouTube reporter Lou Valentino reports that Waymo robotic taxis have “stopped dead” during the massive December 21st power outage in San Francisco. The outage has apparently been caused by a fire at California power provider PG & E.
“The power just shut off,” Valentino says. “The self-driving cars, the Waymo cars, were literally just stopped in the middle of the road. It looks like something out of a horror movie; they stopped in the middle, and they’re cooked. They can’t go anywhere.”
Valentino also noted that traffic lights have gone out and “still, no one knows what to do at a 4-way stop.”
