The questions and answers used as Toronto’s Vehicle for Hire (VFH) testing program have been collected and posted to several sites on YouTube.

“All questions a real test questions, collected from those who took the test recently,” says to opening slide of Simplifoo’s YouTube page. “Hope this will definitely help you.”

Another site, run by Maple Leaf Tamil, has more than 10,000 views.

Because the VFH test is administered to drivers using their own cell phones to take the test, drivers could keep YouTube open during the test to check for the correct answer.

When asked by Taxi News about the test answers available online, Alex Burke of Toronto’s Office replied by email, “The City is aware of YouTube videos on the VFH driver training programs, similar to videos/study guides available for the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) Driver’s Test. To ensure that prospective drivers are evaluated properly, the training providers have different sets of questions and answers and scramble the order questions and the positions of the correct response.”

The full contents of the VFH training course were also made available for purchase in a manual advertised on Facebook Marketplace earlier in 2023.

In 2022, Taxi News attended training sessions offered by several of the firms which were approved by Toronto to provide VFH training. With the sole exception of DriveWise, which requires students to attend their training location and work with an instructor in-person, all of the other training programs are delivered on-line.
