Ontario Review better late than never
VFH industry must be involved
RE: Ontario to review “rideshare framework”
To the Editor, Taxi News
My initial response is what the hell took so long? Had Queen’s Park jumped into the fray 10 years ago, much of the fallout from Uber could have been avoided, and countless thousands of cabbies across the province would not have been shunted to the curb. As for abuse heaped on Uber passengers, especially women, much of that, likewise, would have been circumvented.
Better late than never is small consolation for all those deleteriously impacted. The Ford government is not given to consultation. Unless representatives of the VFH industry are involved in developing province-wide regulations from the get go, nothing of note will change.
