Driver training, winter conditions on Ontario highways: MPP Vanthof asks what Ford government is doing

Asked about commercial Trucking training, government commits to providing passenger rail service

On October 3rd, NDP MP John Vanthof rose in Ontario’s Parliament to ask what Ontario is doing to make sure Truck driver training prepares drivers for road conditions they will actually face when they go over Thibeault Hill.”

Vanthof gained attention last winter when he told a press conference at Queen’s Park “I have a big stretch of highway 11 and 17 run through my riding. Everyone who lives in my riding has had a white knuckle story.”

Vijay Thanigasalam, Associate Minister of Transportation, took the question and noted, somewhat incongruously, “We are bringing the Northlander back.”
