Lich, Barber will not go back to jail
Freedom Convoy organizers Tamara Lich and Chris Barber were each handed an 18-month conditional sentence in court today. Neither will serve any further time inside of jail.
The Crown had been seeking 8 years in jail for each of them.
Both Lich and Barber were assigned 100 hours of community service. Both are subject to house arrest for 12 months, with exceptions including leaving home to work; 5 hours per week for “the necessities of life” including medical appointments and court appearance.
Barber has been given leave to shovel his parents’ snow, while Lich will be allowed to attend the upcoming birth of her next grandchild.
Barber is allowed to leave home for his work as a Trucker, and is not restricted to Saskatchewan.
