Alberta Premier Jason Kenney and Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe, and 16 American governors have signed a letter to President Joe Biden requesting that the United States drop the cross-border vaccine mandate.
Ontario’s Premier Doug Ford is not among the signatories.
“I got the ball rolling on this letter during my trip to the National Governors Association meeting in Washington DC in late January,” Kenney tweeted on February 16th.
“I expect more signatures in the days to come. The trucker vax mandate has no credible public health benefit, but has caused predictable disruption.”
Meanwhile in Ontario, Chatham-Kent-Leamington MPP Rick Nicholls has asked on several occasions where Premier Doug Ford’s “US Trade Table” is, and what its members are doing:
“I don’t believe Doug Ford has sent anyone to Washington as of right now,” Rick Nicholls, MPP for Chatham-Kent-Leamington told RWN on February 8th. “Members of the committee have been announced, including representatives of both auto unions and auto manufacturers; but I am afraid they are not taking very seriously. This is escalating to far more than just whether Truckers are vaccinated.”
