While the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) has not yet issued a media release with final numbers on the arrests which took place on February 18th as part of the Freedom Convoy crackdown, various media reports put the number of arrests as between 70 and 100. Reports indicate 21 trucks were towed.
“They took a private company’s heavy vehicle tow truck and put stickers on the doors which read ‘Under contract to OPP’,” an Ottawa-area transportation manager told Road Warrior News. “It didn’t look like the police bought their own truck, but the owner didn’t want his company name used.”
Over the past 24 hours, the OPS posted releases indicating that convoy organizers Tamara Lich, Chris Barber, Ben Dichter and Pat King had been arrested.
