Politicians are standing in the way of affordable energy

But we also have any number of other policies and legislation implemented and supported by the federal government to discourage or prevent exploration and development of Canada’s abundant oil and gas resources. These are resources that, if exploited properly, would make energy in Canada more affordable for all. The Trudeau/Singh cabal don’t want them exploited though. They want them locked in the ground.

The surest way for them to do that is to make it nearly impossible to build pipelines: the lack of new pipeline infrastructure in Canada means we can’t move more oil and gas – either within Canada, to the US, or to our coasts to go abroad.  Existing pipes are full, so producers can’t produce more to put in them. But the market wants more product.

Trudeau’s plan “to get beyond fossil fuels” is as scary as it sounds: McTeague

Transition from what? Transition to what?

Daring to ask what we are transitioning from prompts a lot of anger, for it dares to question the premise that what we have is bad. Key to just transition thinking is that everything past is a problem. This lends weight to the sense of urgency for transition to something good. And what will good be? Incredibly, the goal is a country – and a planet – where people don’t use fossil fuels.

How a scrappy group of truckers brought a G-7 capital to its knees – “Freedom Convoy” excerpt

On the eve of the convoy’s arrival in Ottawa, the streets felt more like a party than a protest. Honks, diesel exhaust, and excitement filled the air. Drivers rounded city blocks blaring their horns, blasting music, and shouting “Freedom!” as they passed cheering gaggles on the sidewalks. The early arrivals—truckers who showed up on their own rather than in the several convoys set to descend on Canada’s capital— staked positions on Wellington St. and its immediate side streets. Many of them wouldn’t leave those spots for three weeks. The scene indoors was just as vibrant. People who only knew each other from Facebook and Telegram groups met for the first time and embraced. Hotels that had sat empty for much of the previous two years filled up.

European Parliament member Christine Anderson sends greetings to Canadian Truckers, Freedom Convoy

On July 1st, European Parliament member Christine Anderson published this message:

“Dear Canadian friends and fellow campaigners!

Today is the 1st of July – Canada Day – the national holiday of your beautiful country.

I was very honored when I received an invitation from representatives of your courageous and steadfast freedom movement – the Canadian Freedom Truckers – to this year’s Canada Day to join you all in the celebrations today in Ottawa.

But unfortunately, I was not allowed to enter Canada because my status as a consistent unvaccinated person prevents this.

A year older – are we any wiser?

The propagandists: these are what the average Canadian would call “the media.” Make no mistake, they are all in on the growth of the governmental beast; they directly benefit from it. Consider this: you work, you pay taxes, you pay taxes, you pay taxes. Those hard-earned monies are willfully given to an organization bent on its own survival. In turn, the tax collector distributes your money to propagandists drafting narratives and campaigns designed to bewilder and emotionally charge the taxpayer into believing that both the beast of government and the propagandists are there for your benefit. This scheme is to motivate you to give them more of your hard-earned labour, your emotions, your children, your undivided attention and defense of the overlords. Failure to worship at this altar will eventually be met with scorn and retribution.

A few kinds words, a moment to listen cost nothing

So, this past Saturday I decided I’m going to get up, clean up, walk into that big ole’ truck stop and park my tail in one of them booths in the restaurant. Just take my time at breakfast.

It was early. 6 AM. I was the first one there. So, the waitress was on me with the cutlery, place mat and a cup of coffee that sent my taste buds into a state of ecstasy. Yes Ma’am.

Vehicle for Hire fully online training: the short answers (and the long ones, too)

Concerns were raised by Taxi News and industry members on just how easy it will be for people in a rush to certify drivers to circumvent even the most minimal requirements of an online program with no identification requirement. We sent four questions to Toronto’s Media Office staff, who obtained answers from Licensing and Standards.

In this opinion column, I am providing every word sent to me by L&S staff through the Media Office (scroll down to “Full Text”) and also an editted version which removes the “bumpf” wordage and cuts to what I see as the most pertinent points.
