Big Rig Nationals honors legacy and fuels the fight at St. Thomas dragway
ST. THOMAS, ON — This year’s Big Rig Nationals, held August 15–16 at St. Thomas Dragway, was more than just a celebration of horsepower and chrome—it became a heartfelt tribute to a beloved leader in the trucking community.
In a moving memorial parade, the event hosted “Joanne Mackenzie’s Last Ride”, honouring the late founder of Trucking for a Cure. Joanne made her final journey in the iconic CBM Pinkie Truck, driven by Andrew McNally and Laura Horner, surrounded by a convoy of support and remembrance.
Big Rig Nationals has long been a proud fundraising partner for Trucking for a Cure, an organization dedicated to supporting breast cancer research and awareness within the trucking industry. With stunning Show N Shine displays and Big Rig racing, the event continues to draw drivers, families, and fans from across the region.
This year’s success wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering support of our generous sponsors, including Jacobs Transportation Inc, Titan Trailers, King of Bling/Bling Industries Inc, Premier Truck Group, Gerry’s Truck Centre and many others.
Events like Big Rig Nationals thrive on community and corporate support. If you’re interested in being a part of Trucking for a Cure’s 2026 events, please reach out to Community & Event Organizer Jia Conlin-Pereira at truckingforacure@gmail.com.
Let’s keep driving for the cure—together.
