Tasked with reducing Toronto’s congestion, still no mention of VFH cap

Andrew Posluns is described as a “Transportation – Infrastructure – Sustainability – Finance – Research Policy and Government Relations Executive” on his LinkedIn profile.

“I am driven by a passion for what moves communities forward, focusing on transportation, infrastructure and sustainability. I have extensive experience in strategy and policy development, government relations, stakeholder engagement, communications and corporate measurement and reporting,” Posluns writes.

“Throughout my career I have built and managed relationships that are the foundation for success, particularly among government, agencies, the private sector and thought leaders. Among my notable achievements are delivery of transportation for the Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games, crafting the Canada Infrastructure Bank’s sustainability plan and overseeing transit policy and programming for the Province of Ontario.”

Star reporter Mahdis Habibinia quotes a City Hall memo that notes Posluns will “develop innovative strategies aimed at reducing traffic disruption and improving the experience of residents, businesses and visitors.”

In discussion of Posluns’ activities, which will “not eliminate congestion but rather manage it,” no mention is made of reducing the number of Vehicles for Hire cruising Toronto streets, currently estimated at 85,000 to 90,000.
