When Ontario Trucker Csaba Vizi was eighteen in 1989, people in his native Romania rose up against decades of Communist dictatorship. A notable number of the protesters and supporters of the Freedom Convoy in 2022 hailed from Eastern European nations which had suffered under communist rule: "We know it when we see it," one supporter told Road Warrior News. Csaba Vizi speakes out: beaten and injured during arrest

Csaba Vizi has never been featured in my posts before, but I met him last week, and knew his story had to get out!

Csaba was arrested in a brutal fashion at the 2022 Freedom Convoy in Ottawa. He was one of the few truckers who stayed to the bitter end, and he says he was brutalized and injured during his arrest at the Convoy. He badly broke his wrist, was urinating blood for 3 weeks, and had damage to his C-3 vertebrae in his neck. He suffers pain in his neck and diminished use of his hand to this day.

Csaba was often seen on Tucker Carlson, Fox news and other networks and shows covering the Convoy. Even though it’s over 3 years later, he is still facing 4 criminal charges, and has a court hearing right around the corner in early September!

Csaba was financially impacted in a big way after his arrest. His truck was damaged, his tools stolen, and he had to miss significant time off work recovering from his injuries. He also has had to pay a significant amount of legal fees. I know that Csaba is facing significant financial hardship and needs our help! Would you please consider helping today?

Csaba grew up under a communist regime, and came to Canada to escape communism. So to see the totalitarian tendencies of our government spring up before his eyes was too much for him to bear.

You see, controlling where you could go, where you could shop, and what medical treatments you had to take, were hallmarks of communist countries to Csaba.

He came to Ottawa to fight for his family, but after meeting so many who begged him to stay, he made a solemn promise that he would not leave, even if he had to die. I was ready to die if a had to, Csaba told me.

I also interviewed Csaba, and our interview will be ready later this week. Csaba tells me many interesting stories from his time under communism. His summary of the situation?

Communism is simply evil, he tells me. “I didn’t notice that as a child, because I was born into it,” he says, “but then I started seeing things here and there that opened my eyes.”

By the time he was 18 he was part of the Romanian Revolution that helped to bring down the Communist Government. As he says: “No one is going to knock on your door to give you freedom, you have to fight for it”.

When he heard about the Freedom Convoy, he knew he had to join.

When the police got to his truck on the fateful “cleanup” day, he got out of his truck, and got down on his knees by his truck. He says he told the police as he was moving what he was doing, and yet they jumped on him, and kneed him really hard over and over.

Csaba works full-time as a truck driver, and has to fund his legal and court fees by himself. They are charging him with 2 counts of mischief, resisting arrest (unbelievably), and disobeying a court order.

He needs to pay for his legal fees, and his time off work to attend trial. Because Csaba has been funding this himself, he’s had difficulty paying for repairs to his truck, which could impact his ability to earn an income. Please support Csaba today!

Interestingly enough, we don’t even know who the arresting officer is (surprise, surprise), and Csaba’s first motion in a few weeks is to ask the court for the information, or try to have the case thrown out. We will wish him the best in that hearing, but it will probably not be that easy.

Csaba says he went to Ottawa to fight for his family, but as he saw overpass after overpass covered with supporters on the way to Ottawa, he new he had to fight for more. He said many people came to his truck as if it was a confession booth. They told him stories that touched him to his core and even made him cry. They made him promise to stay until the end. He said he took those promises very seriously. He said I will stay until the end, and I will keep my promise.

Csaba did so, and paid a steep price for it. He left communism to find a better way. Now he needs our help to fight these charges which could mean real jail time, and that would prevent him from providing for his family. Support him in his fight for freedom in Canada, and the government who want to take it away.

P.S. If you prefer to e-transfer you may do so.
