City Taxi wins University Health Network bid to provide Taxi services
Contract “an honour, and huge boost for the City brand”
After a careful and thorough four-and-a-half-month Request for Proposal (RFP) process, Toronto’s University Health Network (UHN) has selected Etobicoke’s City Taxi as its ground transportation supplier of record.
City Taxi’s successful bid was selected from among the bids of some of Toronto’s largest and longest-established taxi firms. The contract amounts to millions of dollars of business to the winning taxi brokerage and its drivers.
City Taxi Assistant General Manager Neil Shorey says, “This is a historic victory for City Taxi, as it represents our continued, strategic expansion into the Toronto Downtown market. I am thrilled to work with such an esteemed organization as the UHN. The good work they do everyday on behalf of all our citizens cannot be put into words. To be able to work with UHN by providing important transportation for UHN staff, patients and visitors is an honour and huge boost for the City Taxi brand.”
University Health Network is a health care and medical research organization in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The scope of research and complexity of cases at UHN has made it a national and international source for discovery, education, and patient care. Its programs and services are among the most advanced in the world. The UHN consists of eleven business units that include Toronto General Hospital, Toronto Western Hospital, Princess Margaret Hospital, Toronto Rehab, the Michner Institute, among others.

The contract between UHN and City Tax will commence January 1st, 2024.
