Uber offers drivers $10 bonus to go downtown
American corporation ignores Toronto’s FIFA plan
While the City of Toronto’s FIFA traffic plan entails shutting down whole streets to keep the areas around Toronto Stadium clear, Uber is offering its drivers a bonus to actually drive to these areas.
“It’s completely the opposite of Toronto’s plan, and the poor schmuck drivers will be the ones getting in trouble with the cops,” George Wedge, president of the Rideshare Drivers of Ontario told Taxi News.
“But it’s typical of Uber. They aren’t part of any plan.”
Driver Earla Philips, author of “The Fare Truth” shared Uber’s Quest offer earlier in June:
So Uber has decided to give a quest to get Toronto drivers to flood the road in the nightmare that will be FIFA.

They say choose but there are no levels to choose from.
Haven't seen quests for probably years. pic.twitter.com/FdufmuWXRa
Toronto’s FIFA road closure information is updated regularly on its website.
