Sudbury’s Mike Sanders has a dream

Mike Sanders of Sudbury’s Aaron Group is in the UK this week to promote the Taxi Stand booking tool.

Sanders is the grand son of Aaron Group founder John Sanders, who immigrated to Canada from London, England. Sanders founded Aaron Taxi, which grew from a solitary taxicab into a full-service fleet, one of the city’s largest services.

“Being at the Private Hire and Taxi Monthly show is essentially my ‘I Have a Dream’ event, but for Taxi drivers,” Sanders told Taxi News. The show is located in in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, England, about 50 miles north-west of London.

“It’s great to meet fellow ground transportation specialists from across the pond. Aaron Group and TaxiStand have always strived to provide a better customer service experience and a lot of our UK colleagues believe the same. It’s with that in mind we’ll continue thrive, even in the adverse markets we can find ourselves in.”

Sanders made a splash in Canadian media this spring when he published an “Open Letter to Doug Ford” regarding Ontario’s quest to create special regulations for American rideshare corporations in the province. As a result of the letter, Sanders was interviewed by the Globe and Mail for its feature on the rideshare pilot.
