Maple OnRoute 400 Southbound closing
The Maple OnRoute 400 Highway 400 southbound will close April 21st.
“The landlord of the Maple Plaza (Circle K) has advised that it intends to commence work on the site that will necessitate closure of the Plaza by April 30, 2025,” OnRoute’s Dalia Esposito informed Road Warrior News in an email April 15.
“Accordingly, ONroute must cease its business operations and vacate the Maple premises before then. At this stage, we do not know the future use for the land. We are collaborating with the landlord and the Ministry of Transportation to ensure the closure is managed in a professional and least disruptive manner, ensuring the highest level of service and support to employees, partners, and guests.
“Together with the MTO, we look forward to planning for a replacement site in the near future.”
“Just what the 400 needs is more tired drivers on it,” noted Cliff Flake on a Facebook post.
Amanda Corboett wrote, “This is terrible news. It’s already hard enough for drivers in the GTA to find a safe place to stop and rest. We need more rest stops, not less!”
