FTC discusses junk fees, tricking customers, deceiving drivers
Junk fees, tricking customers, deceiving drivers, and damaging the reputation and revenues of partners in order to drive scale and accelerate growth are just some of the aspects of “predatory pricing,” as described by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
From 9:30am to 12:30 pm EST, the FTC will host a virtual public workshop, Competition Snuffed Out: How Predatory Pricing Harms Competition, Consumers, and Innovation, that will examine predatory pricing and its potential effects on consumers, competition, and innovation.
The public workshop will feature remarks by FTC Chair Lina M. Khan and Commissioner Alvaro Bedoya. Economists, academics, and antitrust litigators will discuss predatory pricing caselaw and economic scholarship.
