Idling Taxi stolen, police release video
Suspect sought in theft of a Taxi, Bay and Lake Shore West area
The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance identifying a suspect sought in a Theft of Motor Vehicle investigation.
On Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 12:44 a.m., police responded to a Theft of Motor Vehicle call in the Bay Street and Lake Shore Boulevard West area.
It is reported:
- the owner of a taxi cab parked his vehicle at the intersection
- he then exited his vehicle with the keys still in the ignition, and left the vehicle unlocked to throw out garbage
- as he turned around, he saw that his vehicle was going southbound on Bay Street
- he then called police
Investigators have since recovered the vehicle and dashcam footage has been reviewed.
The female suspect is described as having shoulder-length wavy hair.
