Top Ten Trucker movies, according to Truckers

A reader on Facebook’s best Trucker page (which will remain anonymous, to protect the innocent) recently posted a question: “What is the best movie about trucking ever made?” The replies were swift and sure. The three top movies – Smokey and the Bandit, While Line Fever and Over the Top easily amassed the most votes and comments, although Black Dog and Convoy were close; and although technically, Patrick Swayze is the star of Black Dog, it is most often referred to as “the Meat Loaf movie.”

While “Armed and Dangersous” with John Candy is technically not a “trucking” movie, readers nominated it for one memorable, over-the-top insane scene (link below).

If you disagree – or agree! – with this list, you can send us a response here.
