Way wraps testimony by highlighting Uber, Taxi differences, new speakers up today

Metro Taxi president Marc Andre Way wrapped up more than a week of testimony by summarizing key differences between Uber and Taxi.
Asked by Attorney Marion Sandilands of Conway Litigation if consumers are protected by ridesharing by-laws as they are by Taxi by-laws, Way did not hesitate in responding “No.”
“Taxis have commercial insurance, around the clock, seven days per week,” he pointed out. “We have never been able to determine how Uber ensured its drivers were covered for the 20 hours per week their policy covers.
“Insurance, vehicle inspections, driver training….Taxi has always been stricter in consumer protections.”
The hearing continues today as new speakers will take the stand.
