CTA Statement on Government of Canada Invoking of Emergencies Act

“These illegal blockades have had a detrimental impact on our members and customers’ businesses. These blockades have also had a very significant negative impact upon our professional driving community. CTA very much welcomes the Prime Minister’s leadership today in helping to bring an end to these illegal blockades,” said CTA president Stephen Laskowski. “Order must be restored to our borders and critical infrastructure that are being blockaded.”

On Flag Day, the world is watching Canada

 The entire world has witnessed Canada’s “emergency” unfold; many are in support. Most are left in disbelief, asking “How could this happen in one of the most peaceful nations on the planet?”

Enacting the Emergency Measures Act on citizens across the country in order to bring an end to peaceful demonstrations not only undermines the credibility of a nation that for years has preached freedom, tolerance, acceptance; but I’m sure it has broken the hearts of many of its peaceful hardworking citizens.

Niagara firefighter’s Reality Song protests being indoors: “Get up, get out, and live your reality song”

Niagara fire fighter Angus James Butler found a novel way to get around COVID restrictions in recording a new version of his quintessentially Canadian tune “Reality Song.” He and his wife recorded the duet over their telephones, which contributes to the casual, “unplugged” take on the song which was originally released as part of Fenian Raid’s 2013 CD “Acoustic Shadows.”
