Ernie Grzincic, taxi industry stalwart, passes away: funeral, livestream information for Feb. 7

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Ernie after a long battle with cancer. Ernie died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving wife Martha, cherished children Ivana, (Ronald), Marko, Victoria, Julia, and devoted sister Suzi. He leaves behind his heartbroken parents Ivan and Erna, brother-in-law Anthony, nephew Neven and niece Ariana. The short time Ernie spent being Dida to his grandkids, Noah and Isaiah will be forever cherished in our hearts. Ernie will be deeply missed by his extended family and lifelong friends.

Toronto convoy largely peaceful and respectful

The Freedom Convoy to Toronto was been carefully been deemed a qualified success by media and politicians in that city.

“After a full day demonstrating, the trucks and protesters who had blocked Avenue and Bloor have been safely moved out. We appreciated the cooperation as we opened, and returned the intersection for safe use by residents and businesses. Officers will remain in the area over the weekend,” said Toronto Police Chief James Ramer on the evening of February 5th.

Downtown Ottawa resident goes out to meet Truckers, is surprised at the patriotism he finds

“In the morning, I see some protesters emerge from their trucks to stretch their legs, but mostly throughout the day they remain in their cabs honking their horns. At night I see small groups huddled in quiet conversations in their new found companionship. There is no honking at night. What I haven’t noticed, not even once, are reporters from any of Canada’s news agencies walking among the trucks to find out who these people are. So last night, I decided to do just that – I introduced myself to my new neighbours,” Maybury writes on his personal website, The Reformed Physicist.
