Update: PSAC, Treasury Board reach tentative agreement but border crossing still backed up

While the Public Service Alliance of Canada reports that it has reached a tentative agreement with Canada’s Treasury Board negotiators, phone reports from Sarnia and Windsor indicate that trucks trying to enter Canada remain lined up for several kilometers on the American side of the border.

Whether this situation will be alleviated today as a result of the tentative agreement being reached, remains to be seen.

20/30 vision or better still required under new “vision waiver”

Details of the Ontario government’s new vision waiver program are now available online.

A new regulation under the Highway Traffic Act for commercial drivers who have reduced vision will allow commercial drivers to demonstrate their ability to compensate for their vision loss and if successful, maintain their mobility and livelihood.
