Beer Store averaging one COVID positive staffperson per day

While not exactly keeping pace with the Liquor Control Board of Ontario’s (LCBO) daily case of COVID-19, Ontario’s Beer Store is averaging almost the same number of positive tests among staff, as noted on its corporate website.

“As we work collectively to battle COVID-19, nothing is more important to us at the Beer Store than the health and wellness of our customers and the more than 7,000 Beer Store employees across the province. All potentially affected employees will either symptom monitor or self-isolate based on circumstances as a precautionary measure,” reads the preamble to each of the individual, almost-daily news releases.

In all cases as the employee receives care, the Beer store  sends “positive thoughts and best wishes.”

May 7, 2021 – We have learned that a Beer Store employee at our store located at 3069 Wonderland Rd. S, London, has tested positive for COVID-19. The Beer Store is working in consultation with the Middlesex-London Health Unit. The employee’s last shift was Sunday May 2nd, 2021.

May 5, 2021 – We have learned that a third Beer Store employee at our store located at 10375 Yonge St., Richmond Hill, has tested positive for COVID-19. The Beer Store is working in consultation with York Public Health. The employee’s last shift was Monday May 3rd, 2021.

May 3, 2021- We have learned that a second Beer Store employee at our store located at 10375 Yonge St N Richmond Hill has tested positive for COVID-19. The Beer Store is working in consultation with York Public Health. The employee’s last shift was May 2nd, 2021.

May 3, 2021 – We have learned that a Beer Store employee at our store located at 1669 Merivale Rd., Ottawa, has tested positive for COVID-19. The Beer Store is working in consultation with Ottawa Public Health. The employee’s last shift was May 1st, 2021.

May 3, 2021 – We have learned that a Beer Store employee at our store located at 414 Wharncliffe Rd S., London, has tested positive for COVID-19. The Beer Store is working in consultation with the Middlesex-London Health Unit. The employee’s last shift was May 1st, 2021.

May 1, 2021 – We have learned that a Beer Store employee at our store located at 285 Taunton Rd E, Oshawa, has tested positive for COVID-19. The Beer Store is working in consultation with Durham Public Health. The employee’s last shift was Wednesday, April 28th, 2021.
